Expanding Food Access

There are two primary ways we expand food access in our neighborhood-both of which happen on a weekly basis roughly 48 weeks out of the year. We believe in food access being consistent. Rain or shine, we work to be a reliable source of produce for our neighbors. Learn more about what that looks like and how to get involved.

Saturday Farmstand

The weekly farmstand is one of the consistent access points built to sustain food access in our neighborhood. We bring local quality produce into our community for our neighbors to develop a more intimate relationship with the seasonality of our food, understand how it is grown, and build relationships with the folks that feed them.

We offer a curated farm box each week that include seasonal fruits, veggies, and a dozen farm fresh eggs.

In order to ensure our customers continue to reflect the people in our neighborhood, farm boxes are offered on a sliding scale price range, and all produce has a 75% discount for EBT users.

Every dollar spent at the farm stand supports our broader network of farmers and programs.

Thursday Free Produce Distribution

In collaboration with LA Leadership Academy, we host a free produce distribution. Made possible by the produce provided by Food Forward and with the help of many dedicated community members, our weekly free distribution regularly redistributes upwards of 2,000 lbs of recovered produce and feeds more than 150 families.

This weekly gathering of community members committed to expanding food access in their neighborhood has now become one of the best ways for folks to find and build community!
